I wonder if Liberal am talk radio will ever come back to Fresno? Maybe when HD radio kicks in a station in the area will have the bandwidth.

I wouldn't count on it. People buying stations in this market are paying way too much! CBS/Peak didn't have a clue what to do with Air America on KFPT. They couldn't figure out how to sell advertising on it, and when they were offered about $3 million for the station they took the money and ran. (used it to pay their mortgage on the rest of the stations. They paid 90 million for the Fresno stations they bought). I hear the folks that bought 790 AM are struggling. And overcoming the conservative bias of many of the local business owners to sell ads won't be easy.
AAR on HD is not very likely unless someone leases the HD from Peak or someone and does it themselves, but radio penetration is probably too low to have enough listeners to survive, and with lack of compelling content (other than BBC on KVPR HD-2) I don't see anyone buying the radios.
